Combining evocative synths with processed acoustic instruments and professional scoring libraries to create a unique, colourful sound that’s rooted in the vision for the project.

Sometimes, you need to emphasize a specific on-screen moment. I also do sound effects for motion graphics, trailers, interfaces etc. (think swooshes, bleeps and/or explosions)

The various sound parts of a project have to perfectly work together to create the best experience possible. Do you already have audio and want to improve it? I can help with session mixdowns, audio clean-up, sampling, dialogue editing and more.

Born in the hot summer of 1984 in Linz, Austria, as the son of painter Susan Purviance and singer/songwriter Gust Maly, music, pictures and stories have always been central to my life. I started taking piano & keyboard lessons at the age of six and later teached myself playing guitar/bass and drums. After school, I studied film at the University of Arts + Design under polish director Janusz Kondratiuk and subsequently music + media technology at the Studio of Advanced Media and Technology (SAMT / Bruckner University Linz) founded by visionary Jazz-bassist, architect and guru Adelhard Roidinger. At that time, I was part of various post rock / art rock and experimental electronic formations, exploring live improvisation and getting into computer based music production. Eventually, Austria started feeling a bit too small and so in 2011, I moved to Berlin, where I shifted my focus on writing and producing music for audiovisual media. Projects I worked on include feature films, video games, tv-shows, shorts, corporate videos and tv spots. I had the pleasure to work with - and learn from - Hollywood composer Paul Haslinger as well as German film music composer George Kochbeck. Awards include a Silver Dolphin at the Cannes Corporate Media and TV Awards 2017 as well as a ‘best music’ win at the Film Forum Austria 2017.
